History
The idea for starting PrescriptionAlarm.com came out of a need one of our founding physicians realized while attending an AIDS/HIV lecture panel. During the conference, there was a panel of 5 clinical physicians who shared what it was like being HIV positive themselves and the daily struggles they faced. Much to his surprise, despite knowing the devasting consequences of not remembering to take their anti-viral medications, all 5 physicians would routinely forget. Even more surprising was his inability to comply with a mock regiment of jelly beans each lecture attendee was required to take. In fact, many of the attendees were non-compliant by the end of the lecture. It was an eye-opening realization to think that such an innocent mental lapse could have such a huge impact on not only one's own life but the health industry and system as whole.
